Well Marlive, this is a picture I made some years ago of a statue of Mary, that is in a park near my home. The statue is about 80 feet tall, and is amazing to look at. I am glad that you like it. :-)
P.s.: Here is another of the same statue that is a close up of Mary's Hands. :-)
Marlive, thank you for adding your comment concerning Black Liberation Theology. Your sentiments are riveting, and heart-felt.
I am sorry that Obama had been put in the position to denounce his Pastor. I am glad that he did not, as this is an indication of his strong character.
Just imagine for a moment, if we each had to denounce anyone that we ever knew, whom uttered something that was "deemed" "politically, or racially" incorrect...
We would each need to denounce most of, if not every one of the people (friends and family) we know— because we are all flawed, and imperfect, and have "slipped up" from time to time, throughout our lives.
With that said, I think that America is going to become more educated, and understanding through all of this, as the Presidential race proceeds. And, in the end, it should be a fascinating and spirited contest between Obama, and McCain for President!
Marlive, the statistical graphic below, is one of many that I had the blessed opportunity to design for "Cul•ture Magazine" (this particular illustration dominated a full-page spread).
Cul•ture is a bi-monthly, published out of Oakland, CA for young adults, teens and youths. I thought you might appreciate the design treatment, although, sadly, it was meant to illustrate Richmond, CA's murder run-rate through mid, 2005, which was very, very high.
I enjoy magazines, and magazine design very much, and hope to some day, have a periodical of my own that may discuss social and world issues. :-) Perhaps it can be a property of, and a vehicle related to TPL... hmmm???
Marlive, I appreciate your viewpoint about what an American President faces, while in office. Politics, economics and the rest combined— are issues so complex, that it is true— no single man or women can literally change everything.
Your keen insight towards this seldom considered reality, is important to know and understand, so thanks.

Yet another amazing video posted by Marlive! Thank you!!! I placed it (appropriately) in The UBL! :-) And YES, it was sooo good, I had to watch it twice. I'm talking about...
'Why?': Remembering Nina Simone's Tribute to the
Rev. Martin Luther King. Jr.
Three days after the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in 1968, performer Nina Simone and her band played at the Westbury Music Festival on Long Island, N.Y. They performed "Why? (The King of Love is Dead)," a song they had just learned, written by their bass player Gene Taylor in reaction to King's death. Get the link from TPL's homepage...
I just wanted to say that you share. I look at your page and it is about networking and sharing. It seems that there is so many that need to get something in return; the simple things are not important anymore. To just give from you heart.
Keep on doing what you do.
