Glossary on "Going Green ", As we recycle and reuse to reduce the volume of waste that occupy our landfills.

(1) The term "climate change" is sometimes used to refer to all form of climatic inconsistency, but because the earth's climate is never static, the term is more properly used to imply a significant change from one climatic condition to another.
In some cases,climate change' has been used synonymously with the term, " Global Warming ", scientists however tend to use the term in the wider sense to also include natural changes in climate.

(2) Packaging : The wrapping material around a consumer item that serves to contain, identify, describe, protect, display, promote, and othewise make the product marketable and clean.

(3) Litter : Waste that is improperly disposed of on the street,sidewalk,lakes and other bodies of water, and in the general environment.

(4) Pollution : Contamination of air, soil, or water with harmful substances.

(5) Recycling : A term used to descridbe a series of activities that includes collecting recyclable materials that would otherwise be considered waste.

(6) Recycled : A term used to describe materials that has been separated from the waste stream, reprocessed,or remade into a new product.

(7) Reuse : To find a new function for an item, that may become waste after it has outgrown consumer use.

(8) Close the loop: A term used to describe the last, and most important, step in the recycling, reuse process to reduce. It refers to the point when a consumer buys a recycled product after it has been reprocessed into a new item.
