Angee ... The Poet Who Would Ever Love Me? (Poem)

From my forthcoming second book of poetry ... Cinnamon & Sin “WHO WOULD EVER LOVE ME?” Who would ever love me? I think as I look at the door Waiting for the post to drop Wondering what wings its way towards my letter box On this fourteenth day of the second month. Apprehension fills me with dread Of all the past encounters I’ve had Spinning my heart in circles and rocking my head The emotions over-run and under-turn me Forging my memories into anti-memories So I no longer know… Continue

Angee ... The Poet All About The Girl (Poem)

From my forthcoming second book... Cinnamon & Sin “ALL ABOUT THE GIRL” It was all about the girl you see I wanted her so badly, so he had to go free. But not free in the sense As you understand in having your liberty But for me it was knowing He wasn’t around to trouble her And I could do as I pleased. As far as I was concerned she would always be my girl I didn’t care what he told me, so in my mind the plot began to unfurl... Would I catch him in the day? When he was complete… Continue

AWC DAY 29 I hope you have had a fabulous journey And spent well has been your precious time The penultimate day of the AWC Finds us here today on Day Twenty-Nine With news of swine flu hitting Spain, Mexico and the USA Is something strange occurring around the world today? Angee ... The Poet AWC 09 - DAY 28

AWC Day 28 Let’s talk about why people dislike and hate Here on the AWC Day Twenty-Eight Why is it we are drawn to certain people and not others? Do we pick individuals we see as sisters or brothers? When you look at your friends, do they remind you of you? Are they always the first you go to when you’re feeling blue? What makes you drawn to a stranger in the crowd? What things annoy you to make you cry out loud? When someone does something to you that you don’t like? Do you tell… Continue

Angee ... The Poet AWC 09 - DAY 27

AWC DAY 27 Stuck between a rock and a hard place I had a lot to think about on Day Twenty-Seven I wondered could I have done any more? And with that decision would I still go to heaven? I had a situation at work last week I didn’t really know what to do I had to think of my team But also the company interests too. When you manage other people Always keep your staff interests key You have to be business savvy It’s a role fraught with responsibility. I thought long and hard About… Continue

Angee ... The Poet AWC 09 - DAY 25

AWC Day 25 It’s Saturday and the weekend’s here I’m so glad for two days I don’t have a care in the world With my feet curled Under me I can do what I want I might sleep and dream in rhyme Waking to write a masterpiece That could fade the instant I open my eye Or I could try to bake a cake Or cook an exotic dish Or I could wish I wasn’t so tired I could wish For a sunny day to sit Read a favorite book outside Or listen to the radio or a new CD Just waiting to be played Allowing my… Continue

Angee ... The Poet AWC 09 - DAY 24

AWC DAY 24 It’s like laying foundations of a building One brick at a time As each day comes and passes The AWC grows another line. Circumstances made me the way I am The thought processes I make The internal moves I take Are the paths I choose To make me better A go-getter On Day Twenty-Four I wrote a letter To myself With my knowledge Of future wealth And wealth of future knowledge I sent it back in time To a place Where I needed advice I never got Received advice I never sought… Continue

Angee ... The Poet AWC 09 - DAY 23

AWC DAY 23 Plethoric innocence abounds around you You have no need yet For deep thoughts to compromise In the innocence of youth. How a frown can So suddenly change to joy? How doubt shrouded in your eyes Can change to the wonderment Of your interest and surprise? How in our adult observations We long to recapture our own Virility of life Virginity of childhood… Unsullied and unbridled passions For simple, uncomplicated things. Bright eyes and fumbling fingers Tend the explora… Continue

AWC Day 22 Day Twenty-Two, was stuck in rush hour again Jumped in the car to join the early morning queues Driving listening to the radio Enjoying some old school tunes On the way on the M4, doing a Heathrow run Trying to catch the flight as in late it comes Chugga lugga chugga freight trucks roll on by Over take on the inside lane That’s a no-no so why do they try? AWC Day 17 On Day Seventeen if you could be a season What would it be? Spring, Summer or Autumn Or would you be cold and wintery? I think I’d be Winter Because I can cause others to cosy up I want them to generate and feel the heat Wrapping tighter and able to get warmed up In woolly hats and thick luscious scarves Fur-lined coats and deep down mittens Their tired eyes will droop heavily Because I’d make them have to be cosy There they’d be with their toasty toes Snoozing and snug… Continue

The Butterflies And Beetles Behind Evolution

Alfred Russel Wallace was Darwin's colleague, a globe-trotting naturalist who helped shape the theory of evolution. Thirty years ago, an antique shopper wandered into a modest antique shop in Arlington, Va., looking for Chinese carpets and wound up buying a magnificent rosewood cabinet. It contained Wallace's personal collection of 1,600 butterflies and insects.

Stolen E-Mails Raise Questions On Climate Research

E-mails stolen from a climate research center in England reveal that a small group of scientists has been pressuring scientific journals not to publish reports that cast doubt on climate change. Group's Video Equates Flying And Polar Bears

A British environmental group has produced a video that shows falling polar bears slamming into the sides of buildings, onto the sidewalk or into the top of a parked car. The group, Plane Stupid, equates the weight of each bear, 400 kilograms, to the amount of greenhouse gases produced by an average European flight for each passenger it carries. Andrew Revkin, a New York Times reporter who covers the environment, looks at the facts.
