AWC 09 - DAY 30 FINALE

AWC DAY 30 - FINALE

It’s the end of the AWC month again

This year I’ve tussled and struggled

Coming up with ideas for my pen

Plotting the days ahead for you

So we can increase our literary flow

Helping you, me and our acuity to grow

With daily reading and writing

I hope new skills you’ve gained

I hope you’ve been challenged

I hope you’ve been entertained

Another thirty days

Now draws to a close

I know I’ll shed a… Continue

AWC 09 - DAY 29

AWC DAY 29

I hope you have had a fabulous journey

And spent well has been your precious time

The penultimate day of the AWC

Finds us here today on Day Twenty-Nine

With news of swine flu hitting Spain, Mexico and the USA

Is something strange occurring around the world today?

How could this happen and what is the cause?

Has someone let loose a virus just because?

A worldwide panic could definitely ensue

With vaccines on offer… Continue

AWC 09 - DAY 28

AWC Day 28

Let’s talk about why people dislike and hate

Here on the AWC Day Twenty-Eight

Why is it we are drawn to certain people and not others?

Do we pick individuals we see as sisters or brothers?

When you look at your friends, do they remind you of you?

Are they always the first you go to when you’re feeling blue?

What makes you drawn to a stranger in the crowd?

What things annoy you to make you cry out loud?

When someone does… Continue

AWC 09 - DAY 27

AWC DAY 27

Stuck between a rock and a hard place

I had a lot to think about on Day Twenty-Seven

I wondered could I have done any more?

And with that decision would I still go to heaven?

I had a situation at work last week

I didn’t really know what to do

I had to think of my team

But also the company interests too.

When you manage other people

Always keep your staff interests key

You have to be business… Continue

Unbelievable But True. Mega Movie/TV Deal Secured for Future Works

Pinch me please. Such is the high opinion of Thunderball Films about my work in general that, having recently signed the movie deal to produce 'A Study in Red - The Secret Journal of Jack the Ripper' in motion picture, they recently approached me with a view to the possibility of producing a number of my other works, either for TV or as Motion Pictures. After much talking and negotiation, a deal has been signed which will see a number of my current and forthcoming releases being produced by… Continue

AWC 09 - DAY 26

AWC Day 26

Free Verse Sunday on Day Twenty-Six
For it’s your day today
Do it your way
You can have your say
In the April Write
Let’s fly our kites
I won’t bite
Unless you want me to!
The month is almost through
Just four days remain
What ever comes to the fore of your mind
Use it to unwind and let loose
Just let the keys go
Don’t say no because
It’s time to showcase your flow.

AWC 09 - DAY 25

AWC Day 25

It’s Saturday and the weekend’s here

I’m so glad for two days

I don’t have a care in the world

With my feet curled

Under me

I can do what I want

I might sleep and dream in rhyme

Waking to write a masterpiece

That could fade the instant I open my eye

Or I could try to bake a cake

Or cook an exotic dish

Or I could wish

I wasn’t so tired

I could wish

For a sunny day to sit

Read a favorite… Continue

Bingo Lovers get together

The following story was written at Pissouri village in a quiet tavern with a couple of pints of local beer, two pieces of grilled halloumi and pastourma.

Pissouri is a well known Cyprus village for the blue flag beach, the numerous vineyards, great views and of course it’s people. Pissouri is a fine example of how people from different cultures can exists together. English, Cypriots, Russians, Italians and many more, live in harmony and great friendships are… Continue

AWC 09 - DAY 24

AWC DAY 24

It’s like laying foundations of a building

One brick at a time

As each day comes and passes

The AWC grows another line.

Circumstances made me the way I am

The thought processes I make

The internal moves I take

Are the paths I choose

To make me better

A go-getter

On Day Twenty-Four I wrote a letter

To myself

With my knowledge

Of future wealth

And wealth of future knowledge

I sent it… Continue

AWC 09 - DAY 23

AWC DAY 23

Plethoric innocence abounds around you

You have no need yet

For deep thoughts to compromise

In the innocence of youth.

How a frown can

So suddenly change to joy?

How doubt shrouded in your eyes

Can change to the wonderment

Of your interest and surprise?

How in our adult observations

We long to recapture our own

Virility of life

Virginity of childhood…

Unsullied and unbridled… Continue

The Addictive Side of Fioricet

Known to many as a trusted brand in treating tension headaches, Fioricet also receives a lot of flak from critics who choose to dwell on the potentially addictive nature of the drug. The issues of addiction attributed to Fioricet are by no means unfounded since two of its active ingredients are addictive substances on their own.…

AWC 09 - DAY 22

AWC Day 22

Day Twenty-Two, was stuck in rush hour again

Jumped in the car to join the early morning queues

Driving listening to the radio

Enjoying some old school tunes

On the way on the M4, doing a Heathrow run

Trying to catch the flight as in late it comes

Chugga lugga chugga freight trucks roll on by

Over take on the inside lane

That’s a no-no so why do they try?

Where are the police when you need them most?

Probably… Continue

AWC 09 - DAY 21

AWC DAY 21

Day Twenty-One and I reminisced

Thinking back on my childhood bliss

Six weeks holiday far away from school

Doing new things I thought was so cool

Going to Carnaby Street to buy some new shoes

Chilling in Oxford Street HMV listening to the Blues

Waking up late and lounging throughout the day

Phoning my mates to hear what they had to say

I remember the first time I flew by myself on a plane

The day was too hot and… Continue
