GETTING EXCITED ABOUT THE WRONG HEAD
by: David W. Johnson, Jr.

African Americans today, seem to be getting more and more confused
The things that excite us is not positive for, but destructive to, our lives
Mentally and physically once again, we are being constantly abused
Jumping from bed to bed instead of preparing for husbands or wives

The clergy cannot convince us to save our children and ourselves
Sadly, a drug dealer, gang leader or con artists can easily destroy us
We allow our children to listen to that filthy rap music on the airwaves
Our Senior Citizens who cannot drive can no longer safely ride the bus

Women have given up on finding Good Men and are settling for anything
Reason, Women who have the few Good Men are holding on for dear life
Wakeup my Brothers, our women and children we must stop abandoning
Stop putting our Women and Children through all this ridicule, toil and strife

America needs more Rosa Park’s, Dr. King’s, and Stokley Carmichaels
Senator Obama is trying to show us the truth but we are too blind to see
Unlike clothes in our wash machines, we are not going through any cycles
Our enemies has other ways to destroy us, rather than hanging us from a tree

We had better start helping rather than always injuring or killing one another
Time is truly running out but it is not too late right now to become a family
Children, start showing respect for your fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers
If you do not, some forty years try if you can, to imagine where you will be

Listen, we do not have time for all this stupidity, our entire future is at stake
If our children are to have a future, we had better come to grips with reality
Our enemies will be glad to see us destroyed and they will not cut us a break
We seem to have all but forgotten the definition of love, respect and morality

Once we get our lives in order there will be plenty of time for fun and games
Brothers, find yourselves a good mate, marry and stop hoping from bed to bed
Show respect for yourselves and others; forget the “N-Word” and other foul names
Sisters listen, wise up, you are too busy “Getting Excited About The Wrong Head”

You Want This… …Or This …Or This
Right Now We Have A Choice But Not For Long

IF IT WERE NOT FOR OUR WOMEN
by: David W. Johnson, Jr.

There are males out there who will not agree with this
Especially those males who will swear they are Real Men
Focusing attention on the situation, I just could not resist
Real Men, women and children are finding fewer to depend

Time males stop acting like boys and return to being Men
Real Men work hard to assure that their families has the best
Women and Children need Men on whom they can depend
Brothers grow up and give gangs, drugs and killings a rest

Look around you and tell me if loosing is a real way of life
What is better, helping raise our children or pacing in jail cells?
A Man finds a Woman, falls in love and makes her his wife
Wife pregnant, he holds her and rubs her stomach as it swells

Older Men forgot to tutor younger boys, now Women suffers
Those younger boys had no tutoring on how to treat women
Thanks to those failures, life for women and children are tougher
Women and Children need someone on whom to trust and depend

If you have to work for eight dollars and hour and go to school
Eight dollars and hour is better than eight bullets or eight years
Better, your child watch you go to work than set on a prison stool
Women work twelve and eighteen hours and at night shed tears

Women possesses the strength and determination Men once did
Working two or three jobs, preparing meals and attending PTSA
Things Women are doing to Save Our Children are just splendid
To Save Our Children most Women are also working for low pay

Males turn yourselves into Men and start accepting responsibility
Our Children, we must help Our Women raise educate and defend
Remember, we are there in a great hurry to help with the fertility
Children would have no future, “If It Were Not For Our Women”

Men, Help Children Have A Future

Why A Little City In Wisconsin Is The Best Place To Die

Hauser's kidneys are failing and he doesn't want to live on a machine, but he's keeping his options open. Talking about end-of-life care helps people make informed choices and have their wishes heard, according to the hospital staff.

'Mad Scientists,' Building The Future For 50 Years

If you've used a GPS system — or if you happen to be using the Internet to read this — you can thank DARPA, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. For 50 years, the smallish, somewhat secretive division of the Pentagon has been mostly off-limits to reporters. Now author Michael Belfiore has profiled the agency in a new book.

Arlington Ladies Pay Tribute To Fallen Soldiers

The Arlington Ladies believe that no death should go unmourned. How do they make sure that happens? The group of women attend people's funerals, even though they don't know them. Host Guy Raz drops by the National Geographic Museum in Washington, D.C., to see an exhibit of the figures.
