RESPONSE TO SUNDAY'S CHALLENGE QUESTION for TPL MEN

Hi Everyone:

The men at TPL wrapped up the weekend in grand style!! They represented well and my thanks to everyone who particpated in the 'A Love for All Times' Virtual Book Tour.

Here's the question: Does a woman’s past really matter if you know, without a doubt, she is THE ONE for you? Do you believe it is possible for YOU to love a woman for all times?

Take a moment to read the answers to the question from a man's… Continue

RESPONSE TO SATURDAY'S CHALLENGE QUESTION FOR TPL MEN

Hi Everyone:

Well, TPL men did it, again!!

Here's the question:

Since Victoria was able to change AJ’s strong opinion about the dual role a woman can have in the home, is the woman the one who has the power/influence in a relationship? Yes? No? Tell us why?

Take a moment to review what the men had to say.

RESPONSE TO FRIDAY’S CHALLENGE QUESTION FOR TPL MEN

Hi Everyone:

First, let me thank all the TPL men who dared to be played and answered Friday night’s challenge question: Just how long should a man pursue a reluctant woman? And how long would YOU pursue a woman that is avoiding you; yet you know she is the one for you?

The participation was great and the men provided some very thought provoking insight. Thought you’d like to see the responses, so here goes!

RE: TODAY’S CHALLENGE QUESTION FOR TPL MEN

I hope my response is in the appropriate location. If not, at least it hasn't cost me anything.

So, the question (or situation, as it were) is: Just how long should a man pursue a reluctant woman? And how long would YOU pursue a woman that is avoiding you; yet you know she is the one for you? Put yourself in A. J.’s situation.

RESPONSE: I think much depends upon the level and nature of the woman's reluctance. For a woman who says, "I not sure I'm ready for a relationship" or "I have other priorities, right now", continued pursuit by the man would be acceptable. In fact, such verbal cues could mean that with the proper approach and due diligence, the woman could come to see the man as "the right one". However, when a woman says, "Go away; you're creeping me out!" or "I'll burn in Hades before I'm caught dead with you!", it's a pretty good indication further pursuit will turn ugly.

When faced with a similar situation, some 30 plus years ago, I approached a woman, with whom I had a business relationship and casual friendship. Upon attempting to further the relationship into something more personal and romantic, she told me, in no uncertain terms, "Not in this life-time." Needless to say I was crushed and taken aback. While not forcefully, I continued (over the period of several weeks) to pursue the relationship. Unfortunately, no approach yielded better results. Ultimately, I relented and we went our seperate ways. We remained friends but nothing more.

Oddly, and much later, I learned the reason for her abrupt and firm response. A male "friend" of mine, who had his sights on her, made disparaging remarks to her about my nature and conduct as it related to women. Had I known the truth, it may have been possible to offer an appropriate counter. As it is, such was not the case.

I shouldn't complain. If the relationship had developed and matured, I may never have met my wife of 30 years. So, maybe there is a reason for all things. Still, we can't help but wonder about the "what ifs" in our lives.

In general, I've always believed that pursuit of another's affections is a delicate affair (no pun intended). If we give up too easily, we risk missing the love of a lifetime. If we pursue too vigorously, there is the possibility of harassment or even having the situation digress into a stalking.

So we walk the fine line between the two and hope the result rewards us appropriately.

Be well,
William

RE: TODAY'S CHALLENGE QUESTION FOR TPL MEN

Disclaimer:
Even though I cannot win one of the prizes in this challenge (because I own & operate TPL), I CAN participate, so here it goes! :-)

MY RESPONSE:
My simple answer is, that if you know in your heart that the women that you are interested in, is absolutely the right women, and the very women that you hope to, and dream to love for the rest of your life, to marry and to care for, then you should pursue the women with respect, courtesy, patience, kindness and diligence, until such a time that "the writing is on the wall", win or lose.

But how does one "know" that the person their interested in is "the one"?

For me, it was the "feeling" I got when I first laid eyes on my Wife of fifteen years, Chrissy. Yes indeed, I KNEW she was the one for me!!! :-) And I had to pursue her for some time, for months, before she would even grant me our first date. And we dated for a few months after that, until we even held hands. Along the way, I am certain that she would tell you that at first, she was VERY reluctant. But I "knew" and "felt" that I had to keep trying, and trying, until I knew... for sure... if she would "take me", or not, and I'm glad that she did!

So my recommendation is to follow your heart, and your love for that special person, for as long as makes sense, and only you will know when to keep trying, or when to call it quits. :-)

GOOD LUCK!!!

Good evening to all, may everyone be in peace with thy self. Ms. LaConnie you post some good questions. Here is my take:

Just how long should a man pursue a reluctant woman? - I would have to honestly say I or would I suggest any other man to pursue any reluctant woman. If the woman is not interested, then why aggravate her and one self. -I understand women change their minds here and there, so I would let my attention be known and continue to live life.

And how long would YOU pursue a woman that is avoiding you; yet you know she is the one for you? - Again I refuse to be a pain in anyone's behind. -I don't believe in "The One" as to say the only one. I think there are a few life long partners out there in the world for everyone. -I say this base of the reasoning that it takes two persons to work at, and maintain a relationship period. -If a couple can not work out their problems and differences, whether if she or he is THE ONE, usually someone is outta there physically or just mentally.

My wife was and still is The One for me. I first seen her on May 23, 1973, her birthday, and I said, "I don't know who you are, but I'm going to make you mind one day."

I finally got the chance to meet her almost a year later, and it turned out to be she was the oldest sister of a very close friend, and soon after meeting her, we got into a real nasty argument. That was okay because we weren't friends anyhow......LOL. -But yet I knew deep inside I had this thing for her. -To make a long story short, I had this thang for her........but she didn't feel the same about me. I was the nice boy around the corner, and her brother's friend. -She had 3 boyfriends before I got my shot. We got together, and had a relationship for two weeks..........Yeah I messed up!........LOL. -I did some old funky stuff I should not have been doing. -So it took another 3 boyfriends and two years before I got another chance at romance, but I never hound her, or chased after her, nor did I try to corner her off to sway her. -When the right time came I was on point, I made a decision between her and another young woman, which wasn't easy, and I lived with that decision for over 30 years, never with a regret.

God Bless.
