About Me:
LaConnie Taylor-Jones, a native Memphian, is a health educator consultant and holds advanced degrees in community public health and business administration. Married, she is the mother of four and resides with her family in Northern California.

For over twenty-five years, Ms. Taylor-Jones has been an avid romance reader. In the summer of 2003 a challenge from her husband made her seize the opportunity to blend her enthusiasm for teaching health, social responsibility and social justice with her love for reading the genre. Her experience as a health educator sparked a multitude of storylines and her romance, which she defines as the spirit of adventure, played a pivotal part in her road to publication. In a little over four years, she’s authored three full-length novels.

Ms. Taylor-Jones is an active member of the Contra Costa Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the African American Community Health Advisory Committee, Black Women Organized for Political Action, and the San Francisco Area and Black Diamond chapters of Romance Writers of America.

RESPONSE TO SUNDAY'S CHALLENGE QUESTION for TPL MEN

Hi Everyone:

The men at TPL wrapped up the weekend in grand style!! They represented well and my thanks to everyone who particpated in the 'A Love for All Times' Virtual Book Tour.

Here's the question: Does a woman’s past really matter if you know, without a doubt, she is THE ONE for you? Do you believe it is possible for YOU to love a woman for all times?

Take a moment to read the answers to the question from a man's point-of-view!!

RESPONSE TO SATURDAY'S CHALLENGE QUESTION FOR TPL MEN

Hi Everyone:

Well, TPL men did it, again!!

Here's the question:
Since Victoria was able to change AJ’s strong opinion about the dual role a woman can have in the home, is the woman the one who has the power/influence in a relationship? Yes? No? Tell us why?

Take a moment to review what the men had to say.

RESPONSE TO FRIDAY’S CHALLENGE QUESTION FOR TPL MEN

Hi Everyone:

First, let me thank all the TPL men who dared to be played and answered Friday night’s challenge question: Just how long should a man pursue a reluctant woman? And how long would YOU pursue a woman that is avoiding you; yet you know she is the one for you?

The participation was great and the men provided some very thought provoking insight. Thought you’d like to see the responses, so here goes!

p.s. I note that we are both in Nor Cal - I'm in Santa Clara-
and that we were both Greeks. I recently set up a Group for
my fraternity (Pi Kappa Alpha) and it is starting to take
off. We are going to use the group to help communicate
and organize an upcoming 60th anniversary for the chapter.
Wil has been so very supportive- see the welcome banner on
the top page of TPL now. The brothers & sisters of PKA have
the best ride in town- a 1923 American LaFrance Fire Truck!

Senate, House Health Bills Have Much In Common

Much of the recent discussion about a health care overhaul has focused on the differences between the House and Senate bills. The bills actually have much in common, however: big ideas that may have once seemed controversial but are now overshadowed by talk of a public option and abortion.

Impeachment Hearings Against Sanford Begin

South Carolina lawmakers began impeachment hearings Tuesday against Gov. Mark Sanford. The legislators began a hearing on the governor's five-day absence in June when he went to Argentina to meet his lover and left no one in charge of the state. Cindi Scoppe, associate editor of The Slate newspaper, says Sanford and the legislature had been at odds even before the scandal.

Pa. University Targets Overweight Students

Students at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania are upset about a school rule requiring overweight students to take an exercise course in order to graduate. The rule applies to students with a body mass index above 30. James DeBoy, chair of the Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation at Lincoln University, says the school officials believe that its their responsibility to alert students to the dangers of obesity.

U.K. Begins Iraq War Inquiry

A long-awaited public inquiry into Britain's role in the Iraq war opened Tuesday with former civil servants questioned by a panel of investigators. But critics say the panel lacks the powers to get to the heart of the issues surrounding Britain's involvement in the war.

CBO Chief On Health Care Bills

With health care overhaul legislation set for action on Capitol Hill, all eyes are on the bottom line. But estimating the financial impact is incredibly complex and contentious. In search of clarity is Doug Elmendorf, the head of the Congressional Budget Office. Elmendorf discusses how his office puts a price tag on proposed bills, and his view of this latest health care effort.

Belgian Thought To Be In Coma Now Responsive

Twenty-three years ago, a Belgian car-crash victim was diagnosed as being in a vegetative state. But doctors now say he appears to have been conscious the whole time. The man is now communicating using a special touchscreen. Neurologist Steven Laureys, who leads the Coma Science Group at the University of Liege in Belgium, says people in non-communicative states are misdiagnosed up to 40 percent of the time.
