About Me:
Angela Edgar, also know as Angee … an Inspiring New Poet, has had a love of writing since her days as a young teenager. With a diverse working history spanning Retail, Video Production, finally forging a Contact Centre career in Market Research, a writing hiatus of 6 years ensued which ended in 2006.

Taking up writing all over again, Angee put pen to paper, discovering she had a talent as if it were the dawn of a new day. Poetry came thick and fast, and with this new found confidence, followed a tentative leap into the arena of Spoken Word performances.

Cultivating an online following of readers, a few of whom actively encouraged her to pursue this dream and loyally supported her growth on this developmental journey, the reality of being eventually approached by a publisher (in this case Mad Jock of Liverpool) therefore seemed inevitable.

Her publisher Rols Sperling describes one of her poems ‘Intimacy of a Kiss’ as “Very beautiful and surprisingly understated. You have an ability to throw in a line of sheer exquisiteness without even so much as a trumpet fanfare.”

Not defined by writing in one genre or style, Angee tackles any and everything that comes to her mind or her heart, sharing her experiences and observations of daily life and fantasy in her own unique style which has resulted in her first collection of poetry called INSPIRED published 11th Feb 2008 and available now.

I Never Dreamed It Was You (Poem)

“I NEVER DREAMED IT WAS YOU”

When I saw your face in the crowd
I looked back in a double take
I stopped in surprise
I didn’t think it’d be you…
I never dreamed it was you…
Could be you…
Would ever be you… again…
I didn’t want to believe my eyes
It had been so long
I thought you were dead
My heart came into my mouth
My soul filled with dread
A flood of emotions returned instantly
Took me back the time we last met
I recalled our passionality…
‘Ha!’, the cynical me cried
When you left it was like… Continue

Who Would Ever Love Me? (Poem)

From my forthcoming second book of poetry ... Cinnamon & Sin

“WHO WOULD EVER LOVE ME?”

Who would ever love me?

I think as I look at the door

Waiting for the post to drop

Wondering what wings its way towards my letter box

On this fourteenth day of the second month.

Apprehension fills me with dread

Of all the past encounters I’ve had

Spinning my heart in circles and rocking my head

The emotions over-run and under-turn me

Forging my memories into anti-memories

So I no longer know… Continue

All About The Girl (Poem)

From my forthcoming second book... Cinnamon & Sin

“ALL ABOUT THE GIRL”

It was all about the girl you see

I wanted her so badly, so he had to go free.

But not free in the sense

As you understand in having your liberty

But for me it was knowing

He wasn’t around to trouble her

And I could do as I pleased.

As far as I was concerned she would always be my girl

I didn’t care what he told me, so in my mind the plot began to unfurl...

Would I catch him in the day? When he was complete… Continue

AWC 09 - DAY 30 FINALE

AWC DAY 30 - FINALE

It’s the end of the AWC month again
This year I’ve tussled and struggled
Coming up with ideas for my pen
Plotting the days ahead for you
So we can increase our literary flow
Helping you, me and our acuity to grow
With daily reading and writing
I hope new skills you’ve gained
I hope you’ve been challenged
I hope you’ve been entertained
Another thirty days
Now draws to a close
I know I’ll shed a tear
And have to blow my nose
As the pressure eases off
I’ll wipe the sweat away
B… Continue

AWC 09 - DAY 29

AWC DAY 29

I hope you have had a fabulous journey
And spent well has been your precious time
The penultimate day of the AWC
Finds us here today on Day Twenty-Nine
With news of swine flu hitting Spain, Mexico and the USA
Is something strange occurring around the world today?
How could this happen and what is the cause?
Has someone let loose a virus just because?
A worldwide panic could definitely ensue
With vaccines on offer for the masses or the few
Is this something that could af… Continue

The Man Who Made You Put Away Your Pen

'Mad Scientists,' Building The Future For 50 Years

If you've used a GPS system — or if you happen to be using the Internet to read this — you can thank DARPA, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. For 50 years, the smallish, somewhat secretive division of the Pentagon has been mostly off-limits to reporters. Now author Michael Belfiore has profiled the agency in a new book.

Arlington Ladies Pay Tribute To Fallen Soldiers

The Arlington Ladies believe that no death should go unmourned. How do they make sure that happens? The group of women attend people's funerals, even though they don't know them. NPR's Petra Mayer caught up with a few of the ladies at Arlington National Cemetery during this week's Veterans Day celebrations.

Television Writer David Lloyd Dies At 75

One of television's most successful comedy writers, David Lloyd, died this week. He was 75. Lloyd wrote for Jack Paar, Johnny Carson and Dick Cavett. He penned episodes of Cheers, Taxi, Rhoda, The Bob Newhart Show, Wings and Frasier. But his most memorable work may have been on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. An episode he wrote called "Chuckles Bites the Dust" was cited by TV Guide as the funniest sitcom episode ever.

Terra Cotta Warriors March Through Washington

In 1974, a group of farmers digging a well in central China stumbled upon a buried figure. It turned out to be one of an estimated 7,000 life-sized terra cotta warriors in an underground tomb complex. The warriors and a host of other figures were created for China's first emperor, Qin Shihuangdi. Host Guy Raz drops by the National Geographic Museum in Washington, D.C., to see an exhibit of the figures.

What The Future Holds When China Rules

In 'Prisoner,' Twisted Whimsy Flirts With New Fears

At the height of the Cold War, the television series The Prisoner was so subversive and enigmatic, it lasted just 17 episodes. There's finally a remake, but if you're expecting a faithful re-creation of the British series, actor Jim Caviezel says you'll be disappointed.
